Database of potential reviewers for academic publications

Our field is growing. We need to continue to work together

Every year there are more and more studies being published on the various aspects of insects as food and feed, which means there is also an increase in the number of manuscripts that need to be peer-reviewed by those of us in the field.  Many of these papers are going to journals that have never published anything on the topic which makes it difficult for editors to identify reviewers.  Often these editors resort to general online searchers to find someone which leads to a disproportionate amount of this work falling in the laps of  the scholars with a greater web presence  ( 🙋🏻).  There are many qualified reviewers out there and I would love to recommend your names when I am unable to review, especially when it is a paper that falls pretty far from my own personal expertise.  I expect others would appreciate being able to do the same thing.

This is why I am creating this database, not for the editors, but for us in the community to work together to get the best reviewers for the papers coming through the pipeline.  I hope that all PhDs (and PhD candidates!) in the areas of insects as food and feed will fill out the form, and by doing so, you will be granted access to the growing database.
